Batti Gul Meter Chalu started its journey at the box office on a low-note. The film also held decently on its second day and only jumped by 18% from its opening day. Batti Gul Meter Chalu 2nd day collection grew less because the film had already earned a little more on its opening day because of the partial holiday of Muharram. Still, the film has underperformed and it is not expected to earn well on its third day. On the other hand, the holdover release, Stree had performed well on its 4th Saturday. Here are the details about the box office performance of both the films.
BGMC Grows On Low Grounds
Batti Gul Meter Chalu 2nd day collection showed a decent growth and it only jumped by 18% on Saturday. Had it not been a partial holiday on Friday, the average jump on Saturday would have been around 35%. Now, it is imperative for the film to grow well on Sunday, which seems difficult at this instant. The film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu has to grow well and hold strong on the weekdays. It has a limited competition from the new releases as only the Punjabi film, Qismat is doing well in the theaters. However, the holdover release, Stree is holding well at the box office. Here is the two-day collection of the film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu:
- Friday – Rs. 6.76 crores
- Saturday – Rs. 7.96 crores
- Total – Rs. 14.72 crores
Stree and Qismat Hold Strong in the theaters
Stree has maintained itself well at the box office even on the fourth Saturday. The film has already crossed the mark of Rs. 116 crores and it is inching towards crossing the lifetime earning of Raazi. Stree had grown by over 50% on yesterday and it would even witness a jump on the fourth Sunday. It would cross the mark of Rs. 120 crores by the end of its fourth week. The Punjabi film, Qismat had taken a good start in the theaters and it performed well on its second day as well. Qismat earned over Rs. 2 crores on its second day and took its two-day total over Rs. 3.50 crores.
