Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa gained a decent amount of ₹11.20 crores on its first day. Now, after this level of opening, it has to maintain a stronghold on its second day. Bholaa’s 2nd day collection will see some drop because of the non-holiday and the start of the IPL.

Bholaa to Witness a Decent Fall of 20-30% on Day 2
Bholaa got a two-digit opening in the theaters and now the eyes are on its earning on Friday. From the day 1 collection, it is evident that the film didn’t get a robust opening like Drishyam 2. But now, it is important for the film to perform well and earn a decent amount of money in its pocket.
The film got a poor start on Thursday but it did well in the evening shows and made a recovery. Now, on its 2nd day, Bholaa would see a drop because it is not a holiday and the new season of IPL starts today.
As per our estimates, the drop is likely to be something about 20-30%. And it will take its second-day collection to something in the range of ₹7.5-8 crores.
Ajay Devgn’s film has received positive reviews from critics and it is helping it attract the audience to its theaters. Until now, Bholaa is the third-highest opening film for 2023. It has earned the third big opening after Pathaan and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.
At present, there is no stiff competition for the film on the big screen. The holdover releases aren’t a big competitor for Bholaa and there isn’t any big release coming soon.
FYI, it is the 4th Ajay Devgn directorial and it has a chance to utilize the extended first-weekend box office run for four days. Earlier, Ajay directed films namely U Main Aur Hum, Shivaay and Runway 34.
Bholaa has to perform strongly on Saturday and Sunday to register a good amount of money over its first weekend. And it has a great chance to do so as other films have already exhausted their journey in the theaters.
Mass Entertainer with a 3D Advantage
What’s beneficial for Bholaa is it is a mass entertainer with power-packed action. That’s why it enjoys a strong appeal from different sections of the audience. Besides, it is a 3D film which helps it attract a good number of footfalls to its screens.
Comparing it with Drishyam 2, the first day is less and it’s most probably due to the presence of intense action elements in the film. Films work when there are songs and other entertaining elements present in them.
It is expected to do well over the extended first weekend and likely to earn a good value. However, a lot will depend on its performance on Saturday & Sunday.
