Irrfan Khan’s Blackmail has not started its journey at the box office impressively. The film took a poor opening and also failed to attract the audience in its evening shows. Due to the poor growth on its first day evening, Blackmail failed to cross even Rs. 3 crores mark. On the second day, the story did not differ much and the film witnessed decent growth. Here is the complete analysis of Blackmail 2nd Day collection.

Poorer than the Previous Film

Blackmail arrived at the box office with an exciting trailer but failed to execute well. It performed similar to the movie, Hindi Medium but did not witness similar growth on its 2nd day. The film is a dark comedy and hence could not attract much audience to its theaters.

2nd Day Collection

After a low earning on its first day, the film had the only choice of growing well on its second day. But this could not happen and it grew by only 37% over Friday collection. Here is the total collection of Blackmail:

  • First Day – Rs. 2.81 crores
  • Second Day – Rs. 3.85 crores
  • Total – Rs. 6.66 crores

Blackmail has an interesting script hence it was expected to grow strongly on Saturday. But it fails to perform excellently and could not even cross the mark of Rs. 4 crores on day 2. Irrfan Khan’s last year release, Hindi Medium also collected similar amount to Blackmail on its first day but witnessed an excellent growth of over 50% on its second day. However, this is not the case with Blackmail and it would only be able to cross the mark of Rs. 10 crores over the first weekend.

The film has fewer chances of earning an outstanding amount on its third day. Also, the IPL matches have affected the business of Blackmail. More updates about the film will be made available soon.
