Salman Khan mostly releases his movies on Eid. And always, Eid has been favorable to him, bringing in a lot of revenue from those films. Tubelight has been one such release and the latest one out of the above 3 movies. Directed by Kabir Khan and released on Eid, it was expected that this movie would perform a lot better than the other 2 movies. With no competition from any other movie, it had received a solo weekend where it could have broken all its previous records. However, its performance remained under the mark.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, starring Salman Khan, was released on Eid last year (2016). It had a long weekend with many holidays. And as expected, it faired exceptionally well at the box office. This movie also received amazing reviews from all leading critics and had been one of the top box office grossers of all time.
Raees, starring Shahrukh Khan, was released this year (2017), along with Kaabil. Even after receiving a tough competition from Kaabil, it performed well. Jab Harry Met Sejal is releasing on August 4, 2017. It would be very interesting to see if Shahrukh Khan is able to win the hearts of his audience with this movie, or this also receives a cold treatment from public and critics.
