Top Movie of 2017

2017 has been a Good Year so Far

This Year has been very fruitful at the box office so far. We did have a few disappointments with Tubelight being a poor show. But apart from that, there have been more than 6 Movies which crossed 100 crore at the box office and the movies coming ahead are also looking strong.

One of the Biggest Release of the year is Tiger Zinda Hai and it's box office collection is expected to be very good. If the content of the film is even a little better than Ek Tha Tiger, then this Salman Khan starrer has the potential to do more than 200 crores very easily.

Other Major Release of the Year Include movies like Baadshaho, Judwaa 2, Pokhran, A Gentleman & Golmaal Again. Padmavati is also expected to release this year if it doesn't get involved in any more controversies. It is also expected to break some Box Office records like Bajirao Mastani did.

Baahubali 2 Continues to Dominate Box Office India

Bahubali has been Dominating the Box Office of Bollywood for a While and its not Easy to break its record. Box Office Collection of Baahubali crossed a grand total of Rs. 500 crores in India which is something no movie has ever done before. Many Movies will try to dismantle Baahubali 2 from the first position, but it will be a long wait before that happens.

Although Aamir Khan's Dangal has surpassed Bahubali in Worldwide Collections by doing 2000 crores plus worldwide. But the fact that Bahbubali created a 500 crore club in India, when no movie had reached even 400, is just amazing deserves a lot of respect.

What is Gross Collection?

The total revenue of the Movie from ticket sales is the gross collections. For Example if you went to PVR Cinemas, and bought a ticket for Rs. 230. This Amount will contribute as it is to the Gross Collections. This Amount is inclusive of all taxes.

Worldwide Collections are always compared in Gross Figures due to different tax rates in different countries.

What is Net Collection?

The Collections of a Movie after deducting Entertainment Tax (now GST) gives us the net Collections. On an average this figure is 20-30% lower than the Gross Collection. This is the Actual Revenue of a Film. This amount is then shared between the Theatre Owners, Distributors, Producers.

Some Movies have Gross Collection very close to Net Collection because the govt makes them tax free in many territories.
