Dhoom 2 received positive reviews from the critics and arrived at the box office with an excellent opening. It broke many records in its first week only. After a strong earning on its first day, the film showed a good growth over the first weekend and collected over Rs. 15 crores.
The film got the advantage of being the franchise film and it witnessed a decent drop in the second week. Dhoom 2 crossed Rs. 50 crores mark in its two weeks and the stronghold of the film in the lifetime helped it to earn over Rs. 80 crores in the domestic market. Also, it fared excellently in the overseas and crossed the mark of Rs. 150 crores in terms of its worldwide collection.
