Movie Reception

Dilwale took the third highest opening of the year after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The film maintained its stronghold over the first weekend and crossed Rs. 60 crores in the theatres. Dilwale took the highest opening of the year 2015 in abroad and became the second highest grosser over the weekend.

As compared to its overseas collection, the film didn't get an expected response at the box office. The film faced a stiff competition from the movie, Bajirao Mastani and witnessed a big drop in the second week. In the third week too, it only earned around Rs. 10 crores in the theatres.
