Synopsis

Right before her wedding, a young, full of life city girl is abducted and held for ransom. As the time being spent on highway passes, she starts to develop a strange bond with her kidnapper. It is in this captivity that she feels free in her life for the first time. What would happen when she goes back to her family? Will they approve of her bond with the kidnapper?

Movie Reception

Highway had a slow start on its opening day and took a jump in the evening shows. The film witnessed a good growth during its first weekend and also did well on the weekdays. Due to the positive response from the audience, it collected Rs. 21 crores and easily recovered its budget cost.

The decent hold of the film in the second week took its total lifetime collection to Rs. 29 crores. It also earned moderately in the overseas and ensured a worldwide total of Rs. 47 crores at the box office. Alia Bhatt was lauded for its superb performance in the challenging role in the film.
