Synopsis

Baadshah is a cold-blooded murderer, who became such due to being raised in an atmosphere of hatred and violence. His only hope in life is his love, Sapna, and a child, whom he rescued while he was murdering someone. His life changes because of that child, and to give him a good future, he changes himself to Babu Lohar, a blacksmith. 7 years later, he finds that the police inspector is still behind him and is on the lookout for him. Meanwhile, the child’s parents come to know about the child and want him back. Will Babu let go of the child and surrender himself to the police? Will the child go back to his parents?

Jaanwar managed to appeal strongly to the audience and attracted a huge number of audience to its theatres. It not only earned well in the beginning days at the box office but also continued its strong performance over the next few days. After collecting an excellent amount in the first week, Jaanwar dropped decently in the second week and recovered its budget successfully.

It didn't stop after the second week and earned Rs. 5 crores more to make a profit of Rs. 83% in its lifetime. In the overseas too, it collected a humongous amount and took its worldwide total to Rs. 19 crores. It was one of the successful films of the year 1999.
