Synopsis

It is a real story based movie that revolves around the Mars Orbitor Mission (MOM) project of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for exploring the Mars planet in the Universe. It highlights the intense efforts of all the ISRO scientists to make this mission successful at a reasonable expenditure. How the ISRO scientists focus on the MOM project by sacrificing their enjoyment in their personal lives has been shown in the movie.

Movie Reception

Mission Mangal started off its box office journey on a positive note due to it being a holiday release and collected Rs. 28.45 cr on its maiden day. After the end of its first weekend, it managed to bag an amount of Rs. 67.39 crores. On weekdays, Mission Mangal also fared well and its collection reached over Rs. 100 crores easily.

After entering the second week, Mission Mangal didn't put a brake on its speed of earning and its second-weekend collection touched Rs. 30 crores. Due to its excellent script, no competitor managed to stop it and its second-week collection remained at Rs. 47.19 crores.

Thanks to its stronghold in the third week, Mission Mangal collected Rs. 14. 53 crores and exited the box office with a domestic total of Rs. 192 crores. Its overseas collection also remained excellent that took its total to Rs. 245 crores.
