Tamasha got an occupancy of around 40% approximately and the film earned well over its first weekend. But Tamasha dropped on a large scale on the first Monday and failed to pass the crucial test. However, the film collected over Rs. 50 crores in its first week but could not perform well in the second week and only managed to reach Rs. 10 crores.

Also, the performance of the film in the third week also remained below average and it failed to do the expected business in its lifetime. The performance of Tamasha in the overseas was far better than in the domestic market and it was declared a hit in the overseas.
