Synopsis

Poonam lives with her Chacha in the small town of Madhupur. Her Chacha fixes her marriage with a young man, Prem. Both Poonam and Prem develop a romantic relationship with each other. Just before their marriage, an accident takes place which changes the entire equation of their lives. It turns out to be a test of their love for each other.

Movie Reception

Vivah is one of the commercially successful Hindi films of all time. After taking a strong opening, it grew well over the first weekend and earned around Rs. 3 crores in its first three days. The positive word of mouth from the audience helped the film to hold strong on the weekdays.

Vivah collected near Rs. 6 crores in its first week and fell negligibly in the second week. Due to fair earning in the third week and rest of the days at the box office, it collected over Rs. 30 crores in the domestic market. The film also received a positive response from the audience and it touched Rs. 50 crores mark in the worldwide theatres.
