Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara opened on decent grounds in the theatres and still earned a good amount over the first weekend. It also fared well over the weekdays and grossed over Rs. 40 crores in the first week. The film dropped around 40% in the second week and collected Rs. 19 crores.
The film also did an excellent business in the overseas market and faced the stiff competition from the Hollywood release, Harry Potter, and the Deathly Hallows. Due to no big film in the Indian theatres, it dominated at the box office and ended its lifetime total at Rs. 90 crores. ZNMD turned out to be one of the highest grossing films and stood at the number 9 spot in the worldwide at that time.
