Akshay Kumar starrer Padman released after getting postponed due to its clash with Padmaavat. The film is a women-centric film but chooses an interesting and different topic. As we all know Akshay Kumar is known for raising issues of social awareness in his works. This time he picks up an interesting issue regarding menstrual hygiene of women.
First of all, let’s talk about the nature of the movie. Padman is a purely content-based film and not a masala entertainer. So the whole success of the film depends on the positive word of mouth of the audience.
In the starting, the movie is slow but slowly picks up the pace to involve the audience in it. Since it is a very different women-centric film so the director R.Balki has taken special care to make it entertaining and interesting to watch. Humorous dialogues prevent it from getting boring and some unspoken words have done the magic to narrate the message to the society.
All the actors namely Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, and Sonam Kapoor have played their role quite well. Akshay’s way of playing his character is simply heroic and quite amusing. Radhika Apte as Gayatri perfectly fits into her role. Sonam Kapoor’s character shows the mindset of urban people about the rural women facing the problem of menstrual hygiene. Clubbing all these and high-quality content balances the film and it succeeds in conveying its message to the society.
Meanwhile, let’s see what other critics are saying about the film.
