Padmavat is now finally releasing on 25th January 2017. Hence clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Padman. Earlier there were speculations in the B-town that since Akshay is coming with his movie on 25th Jan, Padmavat will avoid the clash and will release 1-2 weeks later. But now the news is official that Padmavat is going to clash with Padman at the Box Office.

Padmavati was scheduled to release in December 2017. But following some disputes and protests, it was stalled indefinitely. Recently, it got CBFC clearance with some modifications and name change to Padmavat. Now the movie is releasing on the Republic Day weekend. With its clash with Padman, many are upset while some are happy that Padmavat will now see the light.

When the movies were going solo, there were high expectations that either Padman or Padmavat will be all-time blockbusters at the box office. Considering big budget and big star films, either of the movies was expected to break records of Tiger Zinda Hai and maybe Baahubali 2. But with their clash happening with each other, neither of the movies will be able to break TZH’s records. Both the movies will now be competing for each other’s audience.

Some people, on the other hand, have expressed their joy about Padmavat releasing on republic day weekend. They are happy that Padmavat is finally getting a release date. They believe that it is good that Padmavat is facing some competition. It is high time that movie should see the daylight. Whether the movie is really worthy of all the fight, it will be known if even after the competition, the movie performs excellently.

Akshay Kumar too expresses his happiness on Padmavat release. He believes that Republic Day offers a great weekend for any good movie. It is a sufficiently big week that all the movies could release and enjoy their box office collection. According to him, any movie has the freedom to release whenever it wants.

Let us wait and watch how these 2 movies will be impacting on each other’s box office collection. Keep reading BOTY for latest Box Office updates.
