DV Lottery US Green Card is a Diversity Immigrant Visa, which is also known as Green Card Lottery. It belongs to the US Government lottery program and is aimed to make available 50,000 immigrant visas annually. The lottery program receives applications from countries with low number of immigrants in the last five years. The list of countries which can apply for DV lottery US Green Card is updated every year in September. Countries which can participate in 2019 DV Lottery are given below.
Asia
Mostly all the Asian countries are eligible to participate in the 2019 DV lottery namely, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, North Korea, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Macau S.A.R.
Residents of the following countries are not permitted to apply for this year diversity program namely, Bangladesh, China (mainland-born), India, Pakistan, South Korea, Philippines, and Vietnam.
Africa
Except for Nigeria, all the African countries are eligible to participate in the 2019 DV lottery program, because Nigeria has high numbers of immigrants in the last five years. Natives of all the African countries except Nigeria are permitted to apply for this year diversity program of the US.
Europe
More than half of the European countries are eligible for the 2019 DV lottery program. The countries are Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia And Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark Including Components And Dependent Areas Overseas, Estonia, Finland, France Including Components And Dependent Areas Overseas, Germany, Georgia, Slovenia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia the former, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands Including Components And Dependent Areas Overseas, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vatican City, Yugoslav Republic.
North and South America
Bahamas from North America is permitted for 2019 DV lottery program, but Canada does not qualify this year’s Diversity program. From South America, countries namely, Antigua And Barbuda, Honduras, Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Grenada, Guyana, Nicaragua, Panam, Paraguay, Saint Kitts And Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, and the Grenadines, Suriname are permitted.
But the countries namely Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, and Peru are not permitted for 2019 DV lottery program.
