Satyaprem Ki Katha has completed its extended first-week run at the box office. Contrary to the expectations of moviegoers, the film doesn’t possess much strength. That’s what is evident from its 8-day total in the theaters. Satyaprem Ki Katha’s first week collection has settled around ₹50 crores which is not a good value for 8 days’ earnings.
Couldn’t Get the Strong Hold at the Box Office
Satyaprem Ki Katha hasn’t gotten a strong hold on the big screen since its first day. After taking a decent start of ₹8.5 crores on the Eid Holiday, it showed a decline on Friday. Though it did witness some growth on Saturday and Sunday, it wasn’t up to the mark.
Hence, the first four-day collections of the film only managed to reach the mark of ₹35 crores. SKK witnessed a drop of around 45% on Monday and it collected around ₹3.35 crore. Had it dropped less than this on its 5th day, it would have got a good place. But it didn’t happen.
However, on Tuesday, Satyaprem Ki Katha didn’t fall and it got nearly the same amount as that of Monday. In the following two days, SKK only also held steadily and it took SKK’s first-week collection near ₹50 crores.
Given the steady performance of the film over the weekdays of the first week, SKK is likely to maintain itself well in the second week as well. However, it could have done better if it had got a good response from different regions of the country.
Carry On Jatta 3 Crosses the Mark of ₹25 Crores in the First Week
The blockbuster Punjabi film, Carry on Jatta 3, has performed very well in the first week. After registering a very good start on its first day, the comedy film collected nearly ₹20 crores in the first extended weekend.
Not just this, it also held strong on Monday and only dropped by 35% from Friday. Hence, the strong start in the theaters and the ability of the film to maintain itself on the weekdays helped it reach a total of over ₹25 crores.
Clearly, it is a very good performance from any Punjabi film and Carry On Jatta 3 is set to become the top grossers of the Punjabi film industry. Soon, it will surpass the total earnings of Carry on Jatta.
