Stree had a good opening yesterday and it earned the 12th highest first-day collection of 2018. The film didn’t create any sort of strong buzz before its releases. Still, Stree has fared excellently throughout its first day and collected near Rs. 7 crores in its pocket. Also, it didn’t get affected by the other new as well as holdover releases at the box office. Stree would show a healthy jump on Saturday due to the positive word of mouth of the audience. Stree 2nd day collection early estimates are given below. Apart from this, the expected second-day performance of the other new film namely, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is explained below.
Positive Word of Mouth Helps Stree on Day 2
The horror-comedy film, Stree, would get benefitted due to positive word of mouth of the audience. Stree 2nd day collection is expected to grow over 40% and would land around Rs. 10 crores. This much growth would easily take its two-day total over Rs. 15 crores net. And definitely, Sunday boost would further ensure a good value in its pocket. On Saturday, Stree has no big competitor as the holdover releases have exhausted their run. And the new release fails to open even decently. So, Stree has a chance to show its complete dominance at the box office.
Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se Saturday Collection
Yamla Pagla Deewana fared poorly on its first day and the film is going to face a lot of trouble in the coming days. The film opening is poorest among all the three films of the franchise. It would witness growth on its second day but the total will lie on a lower side. Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se would not even be able to cross Rs. 10 crores over its first weekend.
HPBJ, Gold, Satyameva Jayate Box Office Performance
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi had a steep fall on its second Friday and it earned around Rs. 30 lakhs. Clearly, the film has no chance to sustain well in the coming days at the box office. HPBJ would hardly cross the mark of Rs. 20 crores in its lifetime. The other holdover releases, Gold and Satyameva Jayate also witnessed fall on their third Friday. Gold would earn a lifetime total of just over Rs. 105 crores and Satyameva Jayate would collect around Rs. 80 crores.
