Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar has completed its two-week run at the box office. After two weeks, it has managed to earn around ₹120 crores in total. It is the holidays in some states that helped the film grow on Tuesday and Wednesday. As a result, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’s 2nd week collection has crossed the mark of ₹25 crores.

Holidays in Some States take the 2nd Week Collection Over ₹25 Crores

After its extended first-week run, TJMM started its second week on a low note due to the second Friday drop. However, it gained momentum due to major spikes on Saturday and Sunday.

As a result, its second-weekend collection managed to reach over ₹16 crores which helped it make a comeback in theaters. On its second Monday, it witnessed a drop of nearly 40% earning around ₹2 crores.

However, the Gudi Padwa holidays in some states helped Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar grow well. As a result, it showed a growth of 18% and 4% on its 2nd Tuesday & 2nd Wednesday respectively.

So, you can see that the film got the push on the weekdays which helped it take its second-week collection to a good level. TJMM has not fared as per the expectations. Given the fact that it had got an extended first week, it should have crossed ₹100 crores in collections within this time frame only.

Ranbir Kapoor in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar didn’t have any major competition in the theatres. Still, it failed to attract a mass audience and only got a positive response from a selected region. Due to this, its collections didn’t reach the level they should reach positively.

Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway Performs Well in its First Week

Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway has completed its first week at the box office. It started its journey on the big screen on a low note but it witnessed a great hike in the next two days. As a result, it took its total first-weekend collection to a good level.

Rani Mukherjee’s film didn’t show a major drop on Monday and it earned ₹91 lacs. And the holidays in some states made it possible for it to grow and see a hike.

Therefore, it witnessed good jumps on Tuesday and Wednesday which helped it earn ₹1.09 cr and ₹1.27 cr respectively. On Thursday, it would see a decline on Thursday but it will not be big.

Rani Mukherjee in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway

And it will take Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’s first-week collection over ₹10 crores. Given the kind of performance it is delivering in the theaters, it is likely to last till the end of March month. Here are the day-wise earnings of the film for the first five days:

  • Friday – ₹1.27 crore
  • Saturday – ₹2.26 crore
  • Sunday – ₹2.89 crore
  • Monday – ₹0.91 crore
  • Tuesday – ₹1.09 crore
  • Wednesday – ₹1.27 crore
  • Total (6 days) – ₹9.69 crore

Summing up, I would say that both Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway would continue to do well until the release of Bholaa on 30th March. The former is an average affair and the latter is performing well despite being a content film.

I will come up with more box office updates about these two films. Until then, stay tuned to BOTY.
