The romantic comedy movie, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, failed to witness the required growth on its 3rd day. After the kick it received on the Holi Holiday, chances were high that it would perform well on Friday. But unfortunately, it didn’t go this way.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’s 3rd day collection is similar to its 2nd day earnings. For the film to sustain itself, it has to take a huge jump on Saturday and Sunday.
And that is highly likely because there is no other new film at the box office. Also, the holdover release is not a major competition for this new film. Let’s discuss the performance of the movie in detail!
First Friday Collection is Similar to Thursday
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar collected left a strong impression on moviegoers with its trailer. Moreover, it registered a good number of advance bookings due to the hype. And then, the Holi period helped it to further gain a good opening of over ₹15 crores at the box office.
The following day, TJMM saw a decline of around 35% and its earnings fell around ₹10 crores which was inevitable due to the working day. On its 3rd Day, the film should have picked up from the evening and seen a good jump. However, the kind of jump it needed didn’t come.
And its total three-day box office collection has reached over ₹35 crores. Actually, the problem is a decline that it is seeing in the Northern regions where the urban audience should have contributed to the film.
But it is not going the same as expected. And hence, it is now important for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar to see good growth on Saturday and Sunday. If it didn’t come then it will become very difficult for the film to sustain on the big screen for a long.
There is star power, a good director and good music that is there with the film. With this many factors in its favor, it is common to expect it to see huge growth. Now, there is no competition for the film in the theaters so it must do well by attracting a good number of footfalls over its first weekend.
Meanwhile, here is the day-wise collection of TJMM at the box office:
- Wednesday – ₹15.73 crores
- Thursday – ₹10.34 crores
- Friday – 11 crores (approx.)
Film’s Collection in the Overseas
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is seeing a decent trend overseas with its two-day collections reaching around ₹5 crores. The response is lower than expected. However, we should not forget that there is no Holi advantage for the movie overseas.
After a strong run by Pathaan, the audience is not showing a big craze for this film. And it will be interesting to see how well it manages to do over the weekend.
Now, the fate of the film is dependent on Saturday and Sunday. I will tell you about the box office updates about TJMM regularly. So, don’t forget to come back and read my posts about the movie’s journey in the theaters.
