Kumkum narrates the story of a perfect daughter-in-law, Kumkum. Kumkum is the daughter-in-law of Wadhwa family. She is happily married to Jatin Wadhwa. Unfortunately, Jatin dies in an accident. Later, she marries Sumit who is Jatin’s younger brother.

Kumkum is a beautiful story about a girl who is the perfect daughter-in-law of Wadhwa family. This was the fourth longest-running TV serial of that time. The storyline of this show is too basic yet entertaining. The serial has very interestingly raised the issue of remarriage of a girl. After the demise of Kumkum's husband, Jatin Wadhwa, her in-laws decided to get her married to another man. After so many incidents, Kumkum marries Sumit who is Jatin's younger brother.
