This serial revolves around the story of a hard-working girl, Kkusum who leads a middle-class lifestyle. She takes care of her family. Everybody in her family is dependent on Kusum. Things go wrong when she is engaged to a wrong man who leaves her because she denied leaving her family after marriage. Later, she meets another man, Abhay & both of them fall for each other.

Kkusum starts with a simple yet interesting story of a girl named Kusum. The story revolves around several problems which come in her way. The story continues with the happily married life of Abhay & Kusum. Unlike other TV serials, Kkusum ends with the death of the lead characters.
