This Friday saw the release of Bareilly Ki Barfi, a movie directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. It has been the 2nd movie of Ashwiny after very much loved “Nil Battey Sannata”. Let’s see what various critics have to say about this movie.
According to Meena Iyer from Times of India, this movie is a hooray moment for the Indian cinema. Instead of cardboard cuts, it introduces the world to the real people. This is a sweet, simple, crowd pleaser movie which excels in all respects i.e., writing, direction, acting, and music.
According to Indian Express, the movie is a decent watch. It runs up and down with fits of laughter at some places and flattened direction in other places. But Rajkummar Rao manages to cover the shortcomings of the film with his superb acting.
Rohit Vats from Hindustan Times likes this movie. According to him, it is very interesting to watch Kriti Sanon do something out of her comfort zone. Initially, Kriti carries the whole weight of movie upon her shoulders with her acting of a sweet bubbly girl. But the whole weight shifts on Rajkummar Rao after his terrific entry into the frame. The transformation that Rao played, will leave you in fits and splits. The one and only drawback of this film is its predictability, even after several attempts by the director to keep the audience distracted.
Bollywoodhungama didn’t like it much. According to them, the movie fails to live up to the comments that it boasts of. Lack of sufficient promotion and high competition from Toilet Ek Prem Katha will lead to the low collection at box office.
According to Manjusha from Gulf News, BKB is such a film whose 2nd half didn’t disappoint, unlike many other recently released films. Where the 1st half of the film is totally predictable, 2nd half is a delight to watch. The end result may be predictable, but the direction and story telling is amazing.
We can clearly interpret that this movie is a decent watch. Hence, we would recommend you to go have a watch of this film if you are in a mood of some light rom-com movie.
