Tollywood’s Natural Star, Nani, is back with the movie, Krishnarjuna Yuddham which released in theatres today. This movie is directed by a very popular director Merlapaka Gandhi. This movie shows the dual role of Nani, as Krishna and Arjun. While Krishna is a village boy, Arjun is a foreign rockstar. And both of them are playboys.
The movie opened to a very low start for any of the previous movies of Nani. This movie had the weakest pre-bookings in his entire film career. The last film of Nani was MCA (Middle Class Abbayi). This movie was also opened to mixed reviews. But despite that, the movie was a blockbuster at the box office. Made on a low budget, it had managed to collect around Rs. 70 Crores gross at the box office.
Recently, his debut production venture, Awe, was a blockbuster in both Tamil and Telugu cinema. However, his latest movie, Krishnarjuna Yuddham failed to woo the audience much. The critics and audience both are having mixed reviews about the movie. Talking about the pre-bookings, the movie opened to an average of 30-40% in the morning show. However, the afternoon screenings showed growth in bookings, with 80-90% theatres full.
The movie did not get any release in the state of Tamil Nadu, to show solidarity with the strike of Tamil Film Producers. Also with Rangasthalam wave rising high in India and USA, Krishnarjuna Yuddham is facing a lot of challenge everywhere. Talking about the acting of Natural Star, people found Nani less convincing in the role of a rock star. According to them, this role is not at all crafted for him. A villager’s role saved the grace of the movie.
So going by all the reviews and circumstances, Krishnarjuna Yuddham’s First Day Box Office Collection is expected to be around Rs. 2.5-3.5 Crores. We will update the exact figures once they are available.
