Mom First Weekend Box Office Collections | Updated

Sridevi starrer ‘Mom‘ released this Friday at the box office. Although it received positive reviews from the critics before its release, the film performed decently on its first day. Because of the presence of talented actors in it, the film was expected to perform well on its first day. Also, its release in four languages Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu fails to attract much collections in its pocket on its opening day. But on its second day, the film has managed to improve its performance. Its performance is trending like Sridevi’s previous releases ‘Judaai’ and ‘English Vinglish‘.

There are several reasons for its decent performance. First, the dark theme of the film is somewhat less appealing to the audience. There is not much masala content in this movie. Second, the film is in stiff competition from Hollywood release Spiderman: Homecoming which is attracting good number to its account. Also, reviews from the public after watching this thriller will be a decisive factor in its collections.

On Friday, the film has managed to collect little less than our expectations. The film earned Rs. 2.90 crores on its opening day. But on Saturday, it managed to improve its performance and its business shows a splendid growth of 75.17%. The film collected Rs. 5.08 crores on its second day. The film performed remarkably well on its first Sunday. The film collected Rs. 6.42 crores.

Its total collections for the first three days stands at Rs. 14.40 crores. Its total collection on the weekend crosses Vidya Balan’s Begum Jaan. Seeing its first two days performance, the film is expected to remain stable performer in its next few days. Also, Monday will be an important day to decide its overall business.
