Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees was started on a good note that has hit the screen on 25th of January and has been able to rake good business in the box office. The movie performed excellently in the domestic and international market both on its first week but the second week was bit different as it had to face some strong competition from Kaabil which resulted into a great drop in the box office number.
However, still the movie has managed to gross over Rs. 279 crores at the worldwide box office. The overseas market is contributing a lot no doubt. But the ongoing trend creates a big doubt whether this movie will actually be able to enter the 300 crores club.
Jolly LLB 2 is all set to release this weekend so both the movies Raees and Kaabil have to share screen space with that movie as well which can affect the business of them again.
Anyways, the overall business of Raees is not bad at all and the story is remarkable. King Khan has done great promotion with Pakistani actress Mahira Khan for this movie and that promotion effect is working definitely.
