Padman 2nd Day Collection Witnesses Good Growth

After a relatively lower opening for an Akshay Kumar starrer, Padman 2nd Day Collection is all set to witness huge improvement over yesterday. The film started off a bit slow, as the advance was poor but managed to pick up later in the evening. The total collection for its opening day settled at Rs. 10.26 crores, which came a little lower than the early estimates for this film.

Saturday Collection Early Estimate

Had this film released on its Original release date of 25th January, then we might have seen a very huge growth on Saturday as 26th Jan was a Holiday. But now the case with this film is totally different. The only thing working in the favour of the film is the excellent reviews it has received.

The Good Reviews and word of mouth are very important for a film on social issues. Akshay’s Last film Toilet Ek Prem Katha banked upon the word of mouth and became one of the highest grossers of last year.

Padman is likely to see a Jump of at least 40% on Saturday. The morning shows have started a bit better than yesterday, and evening shows are expected to do really well. It is being said that the film is women-centric and more women would go and watch this film. But this is not the case at all in Major centers like Delhi and Mumbai, where the craze for this film is equal among all sexes.

The Saturday Collection as per early estimates is around Rs. 14 crores net. This could go higher or lower depending on how the rest of the day performs for this film.

Update: Padman earned Rs. 13.68 crores on its 2nd day to take its first two days box office collection to Rs. 23.94 crores.
