Salman Khan to replace Saif in Race 3 | Big B may join the cast

The news is finally here. The third in series of Race franchise is releasing in 2018. But this movie will be coming with a complete twist. The first 2 movies had been directed by the very famous duo, Abbas Mustan. The third installment will be helmed by Remo D’Souza. While Saif Ali Khan was playing the main lead in the first 2 films, he would be replaced in the 3rd by none other than the Twilight actor, Salman Khan. According to the sources, Salman Khan had been finalized for the movie with Jacqueline Fernandez starring opposite him.

According to the Pinkvilla Report, the super star would endorse a completely new character for the first time in his film career. He would be seen in a grey role. It would be completely different from what he is in real life and what he did so far in his reel life. The reason being he was never comfortable in doing the dark roles. But the cool and stylish avatar in Race 3 pushed him to bag this role and he just could not refuse. The role has many shades to it. And it is not at all similar to Race 1 and 2. With this role, it would be refreshing for Salman Khan fans to see their hero as a bad guy. This is contradictory to the sweet and loveable roles he did in past few movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tubelight.

According to some rumors, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen along with Salman Khan in this film. After almost a decade, both the superstars will be pairing up for a movie. They were last seen together in God Tussi Great Ho, 2008. Apparently, Big B has been approached for the role and he is pretty thrilled to do this movie alongside Salman Khan. Hence with a big star cast, the movie is all set to gain more attention. Amitabh Bachchan says, “Yes, I’ve been approached. They (the producers) have come to meet me. But I haven’t heard the script and I haven’t decided yet.”

The film producer Ramesh Taurani says, “Yes Salman’s character is completely grey in Race 3 and it’s an extremely slick, stylish and exciting one – something he has not done before. The Race franchise always has grey characters in them – we are just continuing with that. Like Saif (Ali Khan) in Race or Race 2.”

Having a talk with Saif Ali Khan about the movie, the actor adds, “Ramesh ji told me about this last year that he wants to make Race 3 but as a new movie, with a new cast. We spoke about it and I love Ranesh ji. Who better than Salman Khan for this? I wish both of them luck. But I haven’t been approached.”
