Simmba is a hardcore action flick in which R.Madhavan was about to play the role of antagonist. Unfortunately, the actor was suffering from a severe shoulder injury due to which he had to turn down this offer. After this, Sonu Sood has been roped in for this role. Madhavan was really excited about this project. He expressed his disappointment through his Twitter account.
Madhavan was last seen in Saala Khadoos in the year 2016. Along with Simmba, the actor had to turn down one more Bollywood project. According to some sources, he was approached for a prominent role in a period drama which would be produced by Aanand L Rai. Probably, this would be his collaboration with Saif Ali Khan after long 17 years. Previously, they were seen together in an action-romantic flick, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein.
Rohit Shetty’s Simmba will be produced by Dharma Productions. Saif’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan will be making her debut in acting with this film opposite Ranveer Singh. Apart from her, Simmba will also mark the debut of the recent internet sensation, Priya Prakash Varrier in Bollywood. She has already established herself in South Indian film industry.
