Starring the Great Actor Sivakarthikeyan, Tamil film Velaikkaran is all set to release worldwide on Dec 22. The Advance Bookings for the film have already opened at many places and the response has been fantastic.
Our Trade sources in Chennai have just reported has that the Distribution rights for the film alone have been purchased for a staggering Rs. 38 crores. This is not a major hurdle for this film. Why? Because of the rock-solid advance booking, the film has received. Many leading single screens in Chennai are booked through the weekend. With almost every opening show being housefull.
Many multiplexes started the advance bookings on Wednesday with inflated ticket prices, to ensure major recovery of the investment into the film within the first weekend itself.
The response at Multiplexes is also strong and a first day of Rs. 20 crores (Gross) is on the cards from India. The film is expected to open well in the US Market as well.
Bottomline is Vellaikaran is going to rock the Tamil box office.
