The new movie from the ‘xXx’ franchise is all set to hit the theatres in January, and we have to see if it will qualify for the 100 crore club in India. Amazing fight sequences, awesome effects and a strong star cast – the film has all the elements of a hit sequel. Starring Vin Diesel, Samuel L. Jackson, Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose and Deepika Padukone, the film will be release by Paramount Pictures in 2D, 3D RealD and IMAX 3D.
It has been seen that Hollywood films especially franchise films get a good response in India, and most of them manage to gross good at box office. In 2016, Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book’ had a collection of 188 crores at Indian box office, thus became the highest grossing Hollywood film in India.
Other notable films that made it to the 100 crore club include Avengers: Age of Ultron (111 crore), Jurassic World (152 crore) and Furious 7 (172 crore) to name a few.
While Indian audience is becoming more open to foreign films and their taste has evolved over time, the involvement of Indian actors in Hollywood projects is a major reason of these films becoming blockbusters.
