After seeing the first look of Vidya Balan‘s upcoming film ‘Begum Jaan’, we must say she is Ms. Perfectionist. The picture that shows a disheveled and di-glamorous Vidya puffing hooka cleared that she had again sunk in her character of Begum Jaan. You can easily imagine her as a raw brothel head woman who is completely untamable. The still clears Vidya is ready to amaze the world with another power-packed performance.
The picture that surfaced recently on social media and fan pages also features Gauhar Khan in a de-glam look, and to mention she was a total winner. Though she has a supporting role in the film yet it won’t go unnoticed.
According to reports, the censor has given the film an ‘A’ certificate because of the brothel backdrop and cleared it without any cuts. Only few cuss words were asked to be removed. For example, censor asked to replace the word ‘saali’ as the committee didn’t want any cuss word before the word ‘azadi’.
This Hindi adaptation of National Award winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji’s Bengali film, ‘Rajkahini’ features the trauma faced by 11 women in a brothel after the partition of India. The film that will release on March 17, 2017 will be a directorial debut of Srijit in Bollywood.
