The evergreen B-Town beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan once again made India proud on an international platform. The former Miss World, who is currently in Melbourne to attend the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017, hoisted the Indian tricolor at the IFFM.
Iconic and Enigmatic Aishwarya Rai was accompanied by her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. The duo hoisted the Indian flag and celebrated the 70th year of India’s Independence at the FedSquare. They both sang our national anthem “Jana Gana Mana” and made the crowd cheer. She also gave a small speech and thanked Melbourne for giving such an honor to her. Ash’s words were greatly admired and praised by all.

“Thank you so much Melbourne, thank you, everyone, for giving me such a moment of pride and happiness with so much love and warmth. Celebrating our 70th Independence Day will forever be such a beautiful memory for me and my dearest Aaradhya,” said Aishwarya. She first delivered her speech in Hindi and then went on to translate her words into English.
The “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” actress earned applauds for her beautiful ethnic attire. On the other hand, her little darling daughter too geared up to match her beautiful mother in terms of look. Dressed in a pretty white lehenga, Aaradhya was looking like a fairy.
Ash has become the first Indian actress to hoist the Indian national flag at the IFFM. Rai won the Miss India and Miss World pageants in 1994. She has also won numerous times at the International Indian Film Academy.
Apart from Aishwarya, Sushant Singh Rajput, Konkona Sen, Raj Kumar Rao, Karan Johar, Simi Garewal and many other renowned Bollywood celebrities were also present.
IFFM is Australia’s annual celebration of film from India and the subcontinent.
