Padmaavat was supposed to release in the year 2017 as Padmavati. But due to unfortunate circumstances, it could make it to the release date of Dec 1, 2017. It was postponed multiple times and finally got a release date of Jan 25, 2017, clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Padman.
But Akshay Kumar was kind enough to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and postponed his film to 9th Feb, so that Padmaavat doesn’t face any more difficulties. The clash would have resulted in revenue loss for the Producers of Padmaavat which is already behind schedule.
Comparing Padmaavat against Tiger Zinda Hai is an interesting battle as both movies had huge buzz much before their release. The Outrage by Karni Sena and Rajput Groups stalled the film or gave it a wider publicity. Only time will tell.
