Some songs can never die! And Bollywood has proven that time and again. Starting from the Golden Era, Bollywood has made some beautiful songs which seem to have lost somewhere. So in order to bring those superhit songs back among today’s audience, movies are coming out with the remake versions of those songs. Whether they are Old Hindi Songs or some amazingly popular Punjabi songs, all of them are getting remade in Bollywood movies today.

There was a time when a song’s popularity was based on its promotions, music, and lyrics. Everyone used to put a lot of effort to make a song success. But now, the directors have rather switched to a shortcut. They pick an old super hit song, make remix music for that, and use that for their movies. And since the old song was already a success, the new song will definitely gain popularity.

Who started the trend

Many singers and popular bands sing cover songs of old popular hits. One of such band is Sanam. This band rose to popularity by singing Golden hits from the times of Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi. But these are just the cover songs. So now, let’s talk about the Bollywood movie which started the trend of reusing old songs.

Dum Maaro Dum, released in 2011, became the very first movie to bring in this popular trend. Its party anthem, Dum Maaro Dum became instantly popular. All because it brought back the good old memories. The original song was from the movie Hare Rama Hare Krishna, released in the year 1971. It was sung by the legendary singer Asha Bhosle. The remake song is sung by Anushka Manchanda.

Old Hindi Songs Reused in Bollywood

Normally, the songs that are being reused are of the times of Kishore Da and Rafi Da. They have been 2 of the best Bollywood singers till date. And their songs will stay golden till the time Music is in play. Bollywood movies bring versions of their songs which relate more closely to the current audience. While some songs are recreated lyrics by lyrics, some of them just pick a stanza of old song and rest of the song is new, like Mehbooba. But, that is not all. Many movies also make remix versions of songs that are just a few years old, like Raabta. So now, let’s look at top 10 popular songs that are remade versions of old Hindi songs.
