Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her bold nature and unique fashion style, also faced the incident of the casting couch. In the film, Tanu Weds Manu, after the auditions, she was asked to do a sexual favour in return for a role. The actresses denied the task and finally got the role because of her talent. She also revealed, if casting couch is the only option to work in films, then the women from the red alert areas would quickly become actresses. Later she achieved new heights in her career, and she received the national award for the movie “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”. She has received a national award for her acting in the film “Queen“.
Kalki Koechlin
.The talented actress, Kalki Koechlin also had an encounter with casting couch in her career, which she refused. She said whenever she felt like entangled in the web of the casting couch, but she cleverly fled away from it. Also, she said that a bad actor would not get any benefit from accepting such offers. One needs to be talented to prove its mettle in the industry, and there is no shortcut like casting couch for success in the film industry.
Tisca Chopra
Tisca Chopra, who received the accolade for her talented acting in the movie “Taare Zameen Par” also had to look through the dark side of Bollywood. She said a famous director offered her a role in the film, but later she came to know about the evil intentions of the director. Without giving a second thought, Tisca denied the offer and maintained her dignity. She shared this incident with the media in a hilarious manner.
Surveen Chawla
The beautiful actresses, Surveen Chawla, who had delivered a bold performance in the movie Hate Story also faced the incidents of the casting couch. She admitted that while in the beginning years of her career, she was offered to choose the path of casting couch in the south industry. Surveen said she was so lucky that she denied the offer even if it left her with losing the role. She also said that she had not faced any such incident in Bollywood.
Radhika Apte
The actress admitted that she knows many people who have fallen victim to the casting couch. She too was offered the option of choosing the path of the Casting couch. A famous south actor started a flirtatious conversation with her and asked her for sexual favours in exchange for a role. Later, she was also offered a position in the Bollywood movie and asked to meet the makers, but denied it due to the evil intentions of that person.
Payal Rohatgi
Payal accused the director Dibakar of couching her. She said the director promised her a role in the movie Shanghai but later gave it to someone else. On the other side, Dibakar said she was sending some inappropriate signals, and so he removed her from the role because of her indecency. Later, the director Anurag Kashyap also came in support of him.
Mamta Kulkarni
The actress who was once a famous for her glamour had to leave the film industry within no time. She said Rajkumar Santoshi approached her on the sets of China Gate and asked her to involve physically with him. Mamta admitted she was thrown away from some of the movies because of her denial.
