In the year 2011, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was one of the highest-grossing films. Even after a good 7 years of its release, it has a good impact on the audience. Keeping this in mind, the team has decided to make a sequel to this film. Earlier, Hrithik & Farhan have talked about its sequel many times in their interviews. In 2017, Hrithik stated that he desperately wants Zoya to write its sequel. The actor also mentioned that it might take 2-3 years.
All the star cast will be same
Reportedly, all the stars, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol & Kalki will be featured in the sequel. In Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, all the three male actors were best friends who enjoy their life to the fullest. Their adventurous trip to Spain & the road trip was the main focus.
According to some reports, the storyline will take an interesting turn in the sequel. Instead of being carefree bachelors, all of them will be portraying mature & responsible characters. The story will take a 10-year leap.

Currently, the writer-director Zoya Akhtar is busy in directing Gully Boy which is slated to be released on 14th February 2019. Zoya will start working on ZNMD 2 as soon as she gets free with her current project. On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan is also busy in shooting for his upcoming biopic, Super 30. Katrina Kaif is occupied as well. She is shooting for Thugs Of Hindustan.
