Debutant Saiyami Kher’s first movie, Mirzya directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra released yesterday. It is expected to be a big bollywood debut but Saiyami did not want to be an actress from the beginning.
”My life revolves around sports. I used to play competitive badminton and cricket so acting wasn’t my career of choice since childhood but when I came to Mumbai and I was studying in Xavier’s that’s where I think the bug bit me because I started doing a lot of theater workshops” she said.
On asking, how she was able to get the lead role in Mirzya, she says, “It was a long journey. I auditioned for almost six months. After almost 12 screen tests, when Mehra sir was fully sure, he signed me.”
Mirzya is inspired by the Punjabi folklore of Mirza Sahiban and Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan will also debut with this movie. Saiyami Kher will be seen romancing with Harshvardhan.
