A lot of CMs in last few days had banned Padmaavat from being released in their states. Even after getting CBFC clearance in December, the movie was still facing troubles in some states. The movie was banned in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. Taking note of these bans, producers of the movie went to Supreme Court to plea for their movie.

A few hours ago, Supreme Court has removed these bans and given nationwide clearance to the movie. The court even restrained other states from taking any such actions in near future. Padmaavat will now be screened in all theatres on 25th January, irrespectively.

Even though the movie got clearance, the lead actors have been asked not to indulge in any sort of movie promotions. The violent protests against the film are still continuing. Also, there are risks looming even after the movie will be released. There are high chances that the protesters may disrupt the screenings.

Let’s hope for the safety of the whole cast and crew. We will have to wait for detailed box office updates for Padmaavat. Keep visiting BOTY.
