Anushka Shetty has become the first South Indian Actress to enter the $1M club in the USA. In just 10 days, Bhaagamathie has crossed 1 million dollars with ease. This movie is a woman-centric film which is doing fantastic worldwide. It’s the first Telugu film to be shot completely in 4K HD format. Released on 26 January, on the eve of Republic day, the movie is set to become a super hit.
Earlier, Shetty has worked in two more female-oriented movies like Arundhati & Rudhramadevi but that didn’t work much in her favor. Bhaagamathie has surpassed the records of her own movies. Although this type of movies does not do much business in South Indian film industry. But this time, the actress managed to chase the male superstars of Tollywood. This is the fifth powerful film of Anushka Shetty. Along with her two female-oriented films, she previously appeared in blockbuster series of Baahubali which were massive hits.
1st Weekend collection
G Ashok who recently directed Pilla Zamindar is the director of this film. Apart from Anushka Shetty, this movie also stars Unni Krishnan Mukundan & Jayaram. The first-day collection of this film in India was around Rs. 5.5 crores. According to the opening collection of this film, it’s on the way to become a super hit. The estimated gross collection of this movie in 3 days were:-
- India – Rs. 12 crores (Kerela – Rs. 1.25 crores, Chennai – Rs 1 crore)
- USA – Rs. 4.54 crores
- Total 1st-weekend collection worldwide: Rs. 18.5 Crores
2nd Week collection
Reviewing the total business this movie has done in just 3 days, it has gone well in pace in its second week too. Since its a horror thriller film, much hike cannot be expected from this film. Its expected collection in 14 days in India & the USA are:-
- India – Rs. 26 crores
- USA – Rs. 7.5 crores
According to these figures, it has done well in its opening days not only in India but also in the USA. Also, it has crossed Kerela’s lifetime collection of blockbusters Raees & Vivegam in just 10 days which stars SRK & Ajith respectively. While Shah Rukh Khan is the Badshah of Bollywood, Ajith is one of the most popular Tamil actors. So, having defeated these 2 big giants is definitely one of the major victories for Anushka Shetty.
