Naam Shabana seems to have geared up on its collections in the first weekend. The movie is an action thriller about a spy Taapsee Pannu who goes by the name Shabana Khan in the movie. Naam Shabana is a sequel of the famous movie released in 2015; Baby, starring Akshay Kumar. Since Taapsee’s fan following is not much the occupancy was just 15% on the first day. When it was known that Akshay Kumar has also made some contributions in the movie, the audience rushed to witness their favourite star.
The word of mouth spread fast and on Saturday the collections of the movie went up to Rs.6.37 crore while Sunday was even higher and the movie collected Rs. 7.5 crore. The movie made 13.87 crore on its opening weekend while the total collections since Friday is 18.99 crore.
The writer of Naam Shabana, Neeraj Pandey had also written and directed the movie Baby. Shivan Nair is the director of Naam Shabana who has also credited with the direction of movies like Bhaag Johnny and Ahista Ahista.
Taapsee is a famous actress in the South and she gained name with her role in the movie Pink. She has also received praise for her role in Naam Shabana.
