And it’s another day in the life cycle of JHMS. The movie is doing good but not very good. The reviews which have come till now indicate a mixed response among the public for the movie. This is the 3rd consecutive movie of Imtiaz Ali which has received mixed reviews. The Last one was Tamasha which suffered the same situation. But consider it was with Ranbir Kapoor, the initial wasn’t strong enough to take the film anywhere. The case is not same with Jab Harry met Sejal as its an SRK starrer.

Jab Harry Met Sejal Second day collection look to be on the same lines as its first day. It could go slightly lower by the evening the final total would be around 16 crores only as per early estimates.
It now brings the question if Shah Rukh Khan should consider doing romantic movies like JHMS? Would JHMS have done better if it had a younger fresher pairing? Well, all this is subjective. If Aamir Khan can Portray a 19-year-old Student in 3 Idiots and make it look amazing, there is no reason for SRK to stop doing romantic movies. The focus should be more on the script quality.
Raees had a decent script. But its timing affected its performance a little bit. And JHMS has a solo release but faced Toilet Ek Prem Katha in its next week. So not so great after all. But that doesn’t matter as there is no strong word of mouth to drive the movie for more than next a week.
Update 1 (Sat, 11:50 AM): Till now everything seems to be flat. Our current estimates indicate that the 2nd-day collections would be around Rs. 16 crores.
Update 2 (Sun, 6:30 AM): More data is now available from the evening shows and the growth has not been good. The collections are looking to be lower and in the range of Rs. 14.5 crores net. Actual Figure will be available by 11:30 am today.
Final Update: The final collections are here now and the score settled for JHMS at Rs. 15 crores net.
