All the three new releases of last Friday perform poorly in their first week. Among all the new releases, Zareen Khan starrer 1921 manages to earn a decent collection. On the other hand, the holdover release Tiger Zinda Hai 4th week collection shows a good number. Let’s analyse Kaalakaandi, Mukkabaaz, and 1921 first week collection early estimates in details.
Fail to Attract Even Decent Footfalls & Earning
Right from Day 1, the three new releases performed on a low note. Saif Ali Khan starrer Kaalakaandi remained the lowest earner among the three films. His last release, Chef also fared poorly. But Kaalakaandi failed to cross even the box office collection of his previous project, Chef. If we have a look at the box office collection of the film, it is expected to earn around Rs. 6.50 crores.
Mukkabaaz earns more than Kaalakaandi but fails to take advantage of the media hype it received before its release. The movie earned low on its opening day but showed high growth on over the weekend. On the weekdays, it earned low and it is not expected to cross Rs. 7 cross in its first week. In the next week, its box office business will depend on the 2nd-weekend performance.
Out of all the three films, only 1921 shows a decent collection in its week 1. Its first week collection will be around Rs.12 crores. The movie faced a lot of troubles before its release but still earned a good collection. It is no surprise that these three new films are facing stiff competition from the holdover release Tiger Zinda Hai. TZH has delivered superb performance in its fourth week.
Tiger Zinda Hai 4th Week Collection
The film which ended the year 2017 on a solid note has also started the new year with a strong box office business. Even in its fourth week, TZH has not shown any poor day at the box office. Not only in domestic market but also in the overseas market, it performs successfully. The total box office collection of the film after the fourth week is expected to be around Rs. 330 crores.
