Raju is a poor villager, who comes to Mumbai to better his lifestyle. He settles here with the help of his new friend Happy Singh. One day he finds a runaway bride, Chinni Chopra in his room. They both start loving each other. Her father sets a condition for Raju to marry Chinni. He wants Raju to give him one crore rupees per year to marry Chinnii. Raju agrees to it and calls Chinni after one year to tell her that he has collected stipulated amount. But Raju does not come and there is no news of him. Chinni wants to go to Darjeeling to find him. There she finds that Raju is marrying a girl named Karuna and also he did not collect any money but has stolen it. Her father accuses Raju of stealing his money. Where did this money come from and why is he marrying Karuna?
