October fared well on its 2nd Friday and witnessed only 16% drop from Thursday. The film is inching towards earning an excellent amount on its 2nd weekend. Also, because of the poor openings of the new releases, namely Nanu Ki Jaanu and Beyond the Clouds. On its 9th day, October is going to dominate over all the new releases. Here are the early estimates for the film collection.
Doing Well Despite New Releases
Varun Dhawan’s film held well on its 8th day and ensured its stronghold on its second weekend. It collected Rs. 1.89 crores on its 2nd Friday and would witness a growth on 2nd Saturday. The poor performance of Nanu Ki Jaanu and Beyond the Clouds helped the film to start its second week with a good collection. Here is the total earning of October:
- First Week – Rs. 30.24 crores
- 2nd Friday – Rs. 1.89 crores
- Total – Rs. 32.13 crores
October would grow by a good percentage on its 9th day and is likely to earn over Rs. 7 crores on the second weekend. The film would cross the mark of Rs. 40 crores on the weekdays.
Nanu Ki Jaanu and Beyond the Clouds Opens Poorly
Nanu Ki Jaanu had a poor start on at the box office and could not manage to surpass the mark of Rs. 1 crores on its first day. The low occupancy of the film resulted in the poor earning of the film on Friday. With this sort of performance, it is not going to grow well over its first weekend and would repeat the story of Welcome to New York, Mukkabaaz, Kaalakandi, Veere Ki Wedding.
Beyond the Clouds was no different from the Nanu Ki Jaanu and turned out to be a disaster. It failed to earn even Rs. 50 lakhs and there is no scope for the film to grow in the coming days.
