October completed its first week on a decent note. For this type of film, nothing more could be expected in its week 1. Also, it fared well over its second weekend and collected more than the new Hindi releases, Nanu Ki Jaanu and Beyond the Clouds. On the weekdays, Varun Dhawan’s film held decently and crossed Rs. 40 crores mark at the box office. Here are the early estimates for October 2nd week collection. How the other films namely, Nanu Ki Jaanu and Beyond the Clouds fare is also discussed here.
October Second Week Collection – Holds Decently
October has been doing well in the theaters and has earned over Rs. 40 crores. The film turned out to be a profitable venture for the makers as it has already recovered its investment from satellite rights. On its second weekend, October witnessed an excellent growth and presented a stiff competition for the new Hindi films. But over the weekdays, it held decently and would end its week 2 around Rs. 43 crores.
This film has given a big boost to Varun Dhawan’s career. Earlier, it was speculated that the actor has taken a big risk during the golden time of his career. But he proved his mettle with his splendid acting. Here is the box office collection of October:
- First Week – Rs. 32.24 crores
- Second Week – Rs. 12 crores (approx.)
- Total – Rs. 43 crores (approx.)
Nanu Ki Jaanu & Beyond The Clouds First Week Collection
Nanu Ki Jaanu and Beyond the clouds perform poorly over their first week. Both the movies could not manage to compete with the holdover release, October. Following a poor first weekend collection, the films faltered badly over the weekdays. If we compare the two films, Nanu Ki Jaanu has performed better than Beyond the Clouds. Abhay Deol’s film would end its first week around Rs. 4.50 crores and the latter film could not even be able to cross the mark of Rs. 2 crores in its first seven days.
This Friday, a new Hollywood film, Avengers: Infinity Wars is hitting the theaters. The craze among the audience for this film is very high and this gets reflected in the advance bookings report of the film. All the three holdover release of Bollywood would face the brunt of this new film. Hence, they are unlikely to perform well post the second week. More updates about the films would be made available soon.
