After Rakesh Sharma, Kalpana Chawla is next in line to be featured on silver screen. Yes, just like ‘Salute’ will be made on India’s 1st man on the moon, Rakesh Sharma, a similar biopic on India’s first woman in space, Kalpana Chawla will also be released soon. Kalpana Chawla’s journey and achievements are excellent. Keeping this in mind, the filmmakers have decided to make a biographical film on her. And apparently, the International Star of Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra will be making her comeback to this industry with this movie only. She will play the role of Kalpana in her next movie.
PC’s 2nd Biopic
Earlier, Chopra had worked on the biopic of an Indian Olympic boxer, Mary Kom. Mary Kom was a major hit of 2014. Chopra’s last film in Bollywood was Jai Gangaajal which was released in the year, 2016. She has been busy in shooting for her Hollywood project, Quantico from last few years. Now that she has completed the shooting of the third installment of Quantico series, she will soon work on her Bollywood project.
The debutante director, Priya Mishra will be directing Kalpana Chawla’s biopic. Recently, the director revealed that she has been working on this project for the past 7 years. Also, there has been a buzz about casting Priyanka Chopra in this since last year. Finally, she will start shooting for this. If sources are to be trusted, Chopra will produce this film under her home production as well.
