Alia Bhatt’s movie, Raazi is hitting the theatres this Friday on 11 May 2018. This is a spy thriller film and is based on the story of India-Pakistan relations during 1970’s. Alia Bhatt is playing the role of a daughter, Sehmat who agrees to marry to the Pakistani Army officer. The reason behind her marriage to a Pakistani citizen is to gather secret and important information from the country.
The trailer and the songs of Raazi have already created a lot of buzz in the air. Everyone is crazy for this movie and waiting eagerly to see Alia Bhatt in a new avatar. Also, Raazi stars Vicky Kaushal as a male protagonist. Alia’s mother Soni Razdan is also sharing the screen with her in the movie. Here is the review of Raazi on various grounds:
Acting
As usual, Alia Bhatt has nailed it completely in the film. This was a new challenge for the actress as she had never played the role of a Spy in her previous movies. However, Alia had also proved her mettle by accepting challenging characters in her movies. She has chosen this role very passionately and didn’t want it to slip in the hands of any other actress.
This time, she has given more than her earlier performances and done a complete justice to the film. She has perfectly expressed all sorts of emotions in the film. Alia had taken a break after her last movie, Badrinath Ki Dulhania to shoot for the movie, Raazi and to completely focus on it. Also, earlier the actress expressed her nervousness on the social media before the release of Raazi.
Direction
The director, Meghna Gulzar has worked very diligently in this film. Every minute detail is presented in a commendable manner on the screen. The shooting of the film on many scenic locations has also made it interesting to watch. Just like in the movie Talvar, the director has used every element in the film in an effective manner.
Story
The story of the film is full of emotions and sacrifices. Also, the love of a girl for his country has been effectively put in by the writer. To imagine the relations of India and Pakistani during 1970’s was a difficult task. But the screenwriter has done this job by taking into consideration every aspect and circumstances of the situation of that time. A right amount of balance is there between all the personal as well as professional elements of a person’s life.
Music
The songs of Raazi has already received positive reviews from the listeners. Most of the songs focus on the love of a person for his motherland. Also, the love between a father and a daughter is very well portrayed in its song, Dilbaro. Shankar Ensaan Loy has given an edge to the music of the film.
Overall, we can say that Raazi is a very good film to watch. This is not just a spy thriller film but also unveiled a lot of emotions associated with a person’s life. Meanwhile, let’s see what rating other reviewers have given to the film.
