Raees had a rock solid first day collecting a handsome Rs. 20.42 crores net. This is a fantastic figure considering the film was looking to get an initial of 15 only. The Jump on Day 2 was huge and the public seems to love the film. Raees Second Day (Thursday) collections are coming around Rs. 25.25 crores net.
The jump is 20% and it could have been more. But heavy rain affected the collections in East Punjab and other parts of North India. But the film is doing phenomenal business in Gujrat and Maharashtra, the region where this movie is based.
Kaabil, on the other hand has started slow. The film managed to collect only Rs. 10.43 crores (updated) on Wednesday. And Kaabil also showed a huge jump of around 55% in most places, but this figure is unconfirmed yet. Kaabil’s Thursday collections are going to be around Rs. 17.5 crores net and can be a little more once we have reports from other places.
Overall the performance is great as the collections on Republic day for both the movies combined is around 40 crores which is very good. Friday will be a test for both the movies as it will be interesting to see which movie holds up the best.
