Rangoon featuring Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut has hit the theaters yesterday but sadly the movie witnessed a very slow start with around only 10% occupancy in the morning show. Directed by Vishal Bharadwaj this movie is set during the period of Second World War in 1944. The direction is flawless while all the lead actors and actress too offered stellar performance. However, still the movie could not gain much response as compared to the expectation.
The occupancy showed a small growth in the evening show taking the average occupancy to 20-25%. Rangoon has collected Rs. 5.10 crores net on the domestic market in its opening day. The collection is really poor and not satisfied considering it was a semi-holiday on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. However, it is to see now if the movie can stretch the business on the weekend.
The movie opened in around 1800 screens. Even though the opening day collection is much lesser than the predicted figure but it has received positive reviews from the audiences and critics as well. So, it is expected that positive word of mouth can draw more audiences in the theaters.
